The Ocean
Acoustics Laboratory locates off Si-Tze
Bay
in
Kaohsiung. The objectives of the
OAL are the applied researches
with the signal processing and
statistic in ocean ambient
noise, and the developments of
automatically recorded
instruments.
We
are also interested in the
uncertainty problems of ambient
noise due to ocean environments,
e.g., tides, internal waves, and
interactions with the meteorology,
which are the main effects of ocean
ambient noise propagations.
The experiments in
the open seas are the marine
biologic investigations by using
acoustic sources localizations,
the ambient noise predictions from
long periods observations, and the
acoustic methods for applications
in recent years. So there are many
sonobuoy and underwater recorders
developed and constructed for
these practical researches.
Farther,
we will improve and setup the
measurement systems in the seas to
be more achieved and better.
